I started this blog when I moved to New York City last year, and I confess I haven't done a great job at updating it. My excuses are plentifula broken camera, work, lack of motivationbut perhaps I just needed to gain some footing in my life out here before I can start documenting it. So I'm starting over.
First, I thought about the blog's focus. I want an outlet to share my experiences, from the grand and unforgettable to the subtle and mundane. I don't lead an extraordinary life, but even the shortest scenes, the most candid interactions and seemingly everyday occurrences can turn into a story. As a writer living in one of the world's largest and most cosmopolitan cities, I should have plenty of stories to tell.
Then, I thought it would be a great idea to invite my good friend, Laurice, to contribute. As an American living and attending business school in the Philippines, she has a fascinating perspective of life abroad and certainly has lots of adventures to share. Though she and I live on opposite ends of the globe, within two completely different environments, we have found that our lives still run parallel in a way. We strive for knowledge, love and purpose just the same.
So with that, I invite you to follow our stories. Feel free to comment and share your own if you feel compelled. Oh, and I'm getting a new camera, so that eliminates that sorry excuse. Stay tuned for more!
